| At last the day that you have been long preparing for is here. The
excitement of the event is phenomenal and all the effort of plan
making is long forgotten. You savor each moment and its seems like in
a blink of an eye the day is over but really the marriage and a new
life has just begun. "What will it be like to share a life with someone?," you
wonder. Today, the bookstores are filled with books on how to have a
successful marriage and the truth is, in anything you do in life, it
takes effort to be successful. The investment you make in your future
will decide where you end up. For example, taking the time to learn
how to communicate with your mate will give you a tremendous return.
And when you compare that return to the ice sculpture you just had to
have on the food table, it is priceless.
"Enough already!," you say. "I just want to have
fun!" And you will. In fact, if you put just a fraction of the
effort into your marriage on a daily basis like you did when you were
planning your wedding, the experience can be unbelievable. The thing
is- it's human nature to get comfortable and all of the sudden we
overlook the little things we used to do and the "every day"
routines become a priority.
The good news is you have the choice to make your marriage
everything you want it to be. When you wake up each day, remind
yourself of the decision you made to love your mate and the actions
you take in that direction will be an investment that will give you a
life-long return of happiness and a heart full of gold.
